Pennine Magpie would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We had lots of fun at our Christmas Party with dancing, singing and mince pies!
The drama group performed a special singalong act also.
A big thank you to Halifax RUFC for letting us host the party at their club.
Halifax Magpies hosted a Mixed Ability Rugby Taster Day at their club.
It was a great opportunity to learn more about what is involved in the game and how it benefits people in different ways.
Pennine Magpie is a sponsor and some of our students play for the team.
If you would like information on how to get involved or join the team, please contact Halifax Rufc
The snow may not have arrived yet, but that did not stop us from taking on a bit of winter sport fun.
Some of the students have been Snowtubing at the Halifax Ski Slope Centre.
There were plenty of screams, cheers and laughter as they went speeding down the slope in their tubes.
A few of the students were a bit unsure of the height, but they faced their fears and gave it a go.
All reached the bottom of the slope with big smiles on their faces.
Ben has completed his independent travel training at Pennine Magpie. He now travels from home in Shelf by bus to and from the Pennine Centre. This involves changing buses in Halifax.
Pennine Magpie dance group Magpie Movers have lots of performances at community events this year. These include, the Beat It Nightclub, Shelf Gala, Neighbours Day, birthday parties and Care Home visits.
We have been on lots of barge trips run by the Safe Anchor Trust. The Trust was set up to provide access to the canals for special needs groups. The students really enjoy the trips. We have more planned over summer. Thank you to the wonderful volunteers at Safe Anchor Trust.
